    《旅游英语》教学大纲

    一.课程性质Course Description:

    本课程为职业延展课, 共36学时, 开设一学期(按教学计划,安排在第四学期开设);教学对象是商务英语专业高职高专二年级学生

    二. 课程教学目标 Teaching Objectives:

    是商务英语一门实用型选修课程,面向旅游行业第一线,旨在培养学生较强的旅游接待能力,能够为将来成为高素质技能型旅游行业英语人才打下基础。三大技能并重,即语言技能,知识技能和职业应用技能.通过系统学习旅游涉及的英语词汇,会话, 及旅游知识, 使学生了解旅游接待所包含项目和分类,掌握一定旅游知识, 提高旅 游会话能力, 及提高其它涉及旅游的讲解演示能力及口译笔译能力.在本课程结束时, 能就不同的旅游情景进行恰当的交谈, 能就旅游话题及名胜古迹进行连贯介绍表达, 语音语法基本正确, 语言基本得体。

    English for Tourism is a practical course designed to guide and help learners to enhance their integrated skills and knowledge in the tourism and prepare them to go to the front line of the tourism. The course aims at mastering the basic oral English skills as a tourist guide. It will cover a range of topics in different contexts that concerns tourism activities. Students will be able to build up their vocabulary in tourism English and develop their communication skills in different contexts as a tour guide. Furthermore, students will be able to give introduction or make presentations on certain scenic spots.

    三. 教学内容设计

    使用赵宝国等主编的《21世纪实用旅游英语教程》(学林出版社出版)或高等教育出版社出版的由教育部《旅游英语》教材编写组编写的《旅游英语》,均为高职高专教材;含有阅读,听说,实用会话等;教材包含六个单元,每个单元围绕一个涉及旅游游接待的主题。

    课程内容设计中心思想:“工学结合”,教学实训紧紧围绕未来工作岗位的需要。

    本课程内容可根据旅游业职业岗位要求整合分为三大模块:

    (1)模块一: 英语导游服务:包括导游操作的主要步骤,设计行程,接团,城市旅游以及沿途(车上)导游,观光导游服务,送团服务等。

    (2) 模块二: 涉及旅游接待的饭店服务英语包括客房预订、团队及散客登 记入住。客房服务,餐饮服务,客人投诉解决,结账离店等。

    (3) 模块三: 导游讲解所涉及的旅游景点及文化知识主要包括:节日文化,饮食文化,旅游自然风光与人文景观,建筑与宗教寺庙等。

    课程紧紧围绕旅游六大要素:吃,住,行,游,购,娱;以岗位应用技能(前两大模块为重点),选择重点单元,并补充新单元及拓展实训材料。

    The text book consists of 6 units. Each unit focuses on a topic which is presented by reading passages, practical writing and situational dialogues. The content covers the important areas of tourist reception which will develop students’ oral communication skills as well as interpretation skills of English in tourism. It creates the real-world environment to encourage the learners to communicate in a spontaneous manner and increase their listening and speaking.

    • The reading passage of each unit helps the learner practice their reading skills through reading a variety of articles in the field of tourism. Therefore, the learners will broaden their cultural knowledge of tourism.

    • The writing aims to enhance the basic writing skills in tourism activities.

    • Listening and dialogues creates the real-world environment to encourage the learners to communicate in a spontaneous manner and increase their listening and oral conversational skills, as well as interpretation skills in different contexts in tourism.     • Supplementary units are designed for practical use.

    UNIT 1 Dining(6学时)

    通过本单元学习,学会如何订餐、点菜及付账,并重点掌握一些词汇以及与旅游相关的术语和表达。

    1. Booking a table & Ordering;

    2. Enjoying Meal & Paying the Bill。

    UNIT 2 Accommodation(6学时)

    通过本单元的学习,掌握在饭店住宿登记以及结账付款的程序,并掌握一些重点词汇以及相关的术语和表达。

    1. Reservation & Checking in;

    2. Checking in at the hotel & Paying the bill。

    UNIT 3 Traveling(8学时)

    通过本单元的学习,掌握在机场、飞机上以及乘火车、地铁等交通工具时日常用语。

    1. At the Airport;

    2. On Board;

    3. Taking the Train & Subway;

    4. Taking Other Means of Transportation。

    UNIT 4 Sightseeing(8学时)

    通过本单元的学习,掌握城市旅游、自然景观游以及名胜古迹等一些日常实用句式。

    1. City Tour;

    2. Natural Scenery Tour and Historical Sites;

    3. Places of Interest Tour;

    UNIT 5 Shopping(4学时)

    通过本单元学习,重点掌握旅游购物时的习惯用语。

    知识点:Some sentences on how to go shopping

    UNIT 6 Recreation(4学时)

    通过本单元学习,了解一些休闲娱乐时的一些相关词汇、术语和表达。

    1. Cultural Recreation;

    2. Sports & Outdoors Recreation。

    四.教学理念和方法

    1.设计组织形式多样的教学活动,如项目教学、角色扮演、案例教学和模拟教学等;强调情境教学,教学过程应遵循职业岗位流程要求,情境性原则,力图实现职业氛围,要使教学情境化,尽量为学生提供练习语言知识和交际技能的机会使学生在教学活动中学会与自己、与教师、与他人、与情境对话。

    2.课堂教学注重课堂互动; 激发学生的学习兴趣. 在面授、课堂讨论中,教师充分发挥课堂教学管理者、促进者和信息、反馈、帮助的提供者的作用。

    (This course is designed to be learner-centered and teaching and learning will be conducted through a lot of interaction at different levels. There will be a proportion of group work and pair work appropriate to the native of activities in the class. Flexible and various activities will be conducted to arouse the learners’ interests and keep their attention, for example, sharing time; research project, pair work, group discussion, pop quiz time, , role-plays, simulations, and presentations, etc. The teachers’ role is to facilitate, stimulate and support activities where learners participate actively and creatively in learning. )

    教学模式: IEPE(Inspiring/Interacting—Exploring/Expanding—Practicing/Presenting---

    Evaluating)教学模式; 培养学生拓展思维和自我学习及旅游交际环境中综合应用能力,体现教,学,做融为一体;

    (1)Inspiring/Interacting: 老师充分启发学生的思维,积极保持课堂的互动性,激发兴趣,并调动积极性。

    (2)Exploring/Expanding: 学生在布置任务或项目后, 能积极开展探究活动, 并在完成任务时拓展知识和技能;另外引导学生主动积极地利用现有图书资料和网上信息获取知识,并使学生在运用知识的过程中培养各种能力。

    (Furthermore, guide students to take initiatives to find different resources to expand their knowledge in English for Tourist Guide. At the same time, they enhance the ability in applying what they have learned.)

    (3)Practicing/presenting (including a lot of simulations and presentations)以导游英语口语交际理念和技能为主,边学边练,反复运用,大量模拟仿真操练演示, Examples (sharing, group research project)

    (4) Evaluating在有效时间内及时对学生的活动做出快速反馈和评价, 事先准备评价标准及要求(including peer evaluation).

    五.教学重点:

    实训是教学重点,因此要查找资料,搭建实训教学体系,具体操作如下:

    有计划分步骤进行实践教学,开学初班级分组,鼓励合作学习,同学互评, 突出“学以致用”, 针对教材一些相对不足之处,将长对话挑重点改为导游解说词,自编师训大纲或参考资料 补充更实用的单元或内容。(厦门及酒店单元)A new unit “Xiamen” is to be designed, the purpose for designing this unit is to let students make practical use of what we learn in class. (Other examples, hotel services…)

    Practicum Arrangement

    • Guest speakers /(trainers) from the from the front line of the tourism will be invited to conduct the practicum session for 50% of the course periods.

    • Field trips will be arranged to teach and practice outside of the class.

    • Simulations and group project will be assigned.

    六.考核方式+ 实践(训)考核内容及方式

    采用多种考核方式,平时课堂实践表现,实训现场口试等考试形式, 期末口试和平时考查紧密结合,进行综合评分。

    Course Assessment

    Students will be assessed in various ways through formative assessment and summative oral assessment. 1)Attendance and participation;2)Assignment and quiz;3) Practice project and oral presentation; 4) Final oral examination.
